The Onda is done

I have finished the Onda, ends sewn in, blocked and ready for photos but the weather has just turned and it is really hard to get any good pictures on this grey day, so the birds have been removed from the bird wall and the son who was happily playing records (Bowie, if you want to know) has moved position. It’s just a tiny space that gets a little bit more light then anywhere else, so pictures came down, cardigan went up and photos taken.

I’d used all the tolerance allowance then, replaced the birds and wanted to take a new picture as they never go up in the same way plus I have a beautiful new image from Salvo Toscano, but the long teenage boy had a look of begrudging compliance for the faff of me and my “photoshoots” so I will save that for another day.

Forgive me whilst I waffle on a bit more about this, PomPom mag is the most beautiful publication – I love the size, design and all the content – I would recommend it to anyone and you have to be quick to buy up the printed version as they sold out of issue 1.  You can now buy the digital download on Ravelry but it’s not qute the same as holding paper.  Listen to me, I sound very old, playing records, coveting paper and print, next  I’ll be saying I need to blacken the hearth – if only I had one.

The yarn is hand dyed by Skein Queen and is Oasis Grande, a heady mix of camel and silk, beautiful to knit with and just the right amount of drape to not look like “a cardi” but something fairly more glamorous to wear “out”. Enough now, before you begin to realise how odd I really am.

That’s beautiful! I love the marly grey with the yellow and orange. It really does look a cut above, lovely and silky and drapey, very glam! x
