A couple of things I love:  the colour yellow, the sea, making things, conversations with good friends, doing unexpected things.

Not sure if the current wips have anything to do with the above, they all seem blue.

From L-R,

The Family Jumper: you know in your head you’re making it for X but think maybe X wouldn’t like it and convince yourself it’s for Y but then X adopts it and wears it continually. Well, no more fighting that urge, I am just making a jumper that all of us will wear and see who grabs it.

Mum’s Cardi: sideways knitted, lace, deadline knitting – no pressure there then…

Snawheid: something that I shouldn’t even have started but one day down and it’s nearly completed. High satisfaction, all topped off with a pom pom (normal size, not jelly size)

Back onto love, more than pom poms, the colour yellow, the sea – there is a secret love that I have, it’s a family joke in our house but I please myself with believing I am 6 yrs old again and you know when you have a boyfriend, but they don’t know it’s them – well that. Obviously a true undenying love. Or when you are a young teen and you count the numbers on your bus ticket and if it adds to 21, you and our friends are convinced that if you sleep with it under your pillow, you will dream of your true love – yes, that too. These are only the ones I am least embarrassed to talk about, imagine the ones I am not saying here. The Shame.

Am I foolhardy or ever hopeful? Says the girl who has made the “eternal mistletoe for the perpetually hopeful”.

Are you eternally hopeful too? Have shocking stories of love? A secret love? I am having a little giveaway here where you can win 6 x mistletoe greeting cards, each comes with a code that enables you to download a pattern to make your own knitted mistletoe – that is true love…  All you need to do is leave a comment here, anything about love and then a random number picker will pick who will win on Wednesday 5 December.

inhaling the scent of your baby’s head for the first time – that’s a strong and powerful love. (Unless they have a stinky head, and some babies do!)

Love is waking up and your sweet girlfriend has already made French press coffee. <3

Doing the rounds before going to bed and seeing my three gorgeous children slumbering peacefully and feeling filled with love for them.

I don’t believe in unrequited love.

My favourite love is a walk in the woods whatever the weather, with the family or alone for some peace… it’s something about looking out for the robins and the deer, hearing the woodpeckers, and trying to stop the dogs chasing squirrels. I love the woods :-)

Love is in that first time he tells you you’re beautiful and you can truly see he believes it.

Singing in the stands at a football match or bouncing in the pit at a gig or standing with neighbours on a demonstration or talking about a book that we have both read….I love feelings of a shared experience.

Mum, who has hated pets of any description for ever, suddenly and compassionately invites the CAT to stay at hers for Christmas too (if it means we all get to stay too for a day or two). A mother’s love knows no bounds eh
