pear pin cushion
I receive so many treats from wonderful people, it makes me feel very privileged to know so many creative people and I think that is why every day feels like an adventure. The pear above is a gift I received in the post from the talented angahard aka helen – it just is perfect and beautifully made and very lovely to receive an unexpected gift. Angahard aka helen is a friend I met through Etsy and she is also on flickr, blogspot, twitter, ravelry, – the list goes on. If you visit her blog you will find links to tutorials and posts about her beautiful work – I am in awe of her sewing genius – she is everything I am not in the sewing department – neat and patient being the top of that list!
So much more news this week too, skeinqueen has a new blog to read, I’ve opened a parcel of goodness by an indie soapmaking friend of mine – I love these soapsicles and you can even get some via me if you want them – right here.

It’s only a week before I go away (well, just over) to see my parents with the children. My mum is the knitting genius, passed on to her from her mum and whilst I am away I have a few projects lined up to do. They live in Portugal and the first time I went to see them I was so inspired by the tiled houses that I made some gloves for me whilst there called Alfredos.

It is so long since I made the original pair, I have been selling them in my Etsy shop but now there is a pattern written up for them and an opportunity to grab yourself a free pattern! I love reading other people’s thoughts and ideas and I was so inspired by your creativity in the last giveaway. So this week’s holidayaway giveaway is really just a request to tell me about somewhere that you would like to be right now if you could and why? You have until Sunday 26th July at 6pm BST – I am thinking of this as my holiday reading….

ps you can enter as many times as you like for any of my giveaways : )

If I could my favorate place in the whole wide world is a secluded beach on the Isles Of Scilly called Pelistry beach. If you are on ravalry you can see a picture of it as it is my profile pic just now…heaven is taking a picnic, good book and my crochet and spending the whole day with my family on this deserted beach… total bliss:-)
I would like to be on my holiday sofa outside my back door (the picture is on my blog), knitting – and I think I might just nip off there right now! Before the clouds turn into rain. Have a lovely hol.
Pomona x
that is a most wonderous place, so very very beautiful
I love your holiday sofa and your garden and bunting is making me feel very relaxed – it is very different from my urbanite home : )
I would like to be in the woods behind my parents house (where Harry Potter is being filmed at the mo!). In particular a place called Caeser’s Camp. Its an ancient hill fort where you can either do the usualy Forestry Commission led paths or like me, take the paths less travelled and wander through along the old walls and earthmade battlements
Its the most beautiful place during all seasons, with giant chestnut trees, squirrels, deer, knee deep heather, waist high bracken.
A trully beautiful secret place full of history, atmosphere and stunning natural beauty – extremely inspiring and comforting to me
I (as usual) am throwing m threepennyworth in and have a few thoughts – you ready?
I’d like to be in the arms of my beloved which would mean being on a blasted research ship in Whittards’ Canyon, but only until a week on tuesday (squee!)
I’m desperate to travel all over the world (starting with Talinn in August squee!) and at the moment my main preoccupation is to visit Italy and eat icecream and pasta alfresco.
Most of my “would like to be”s involve some element of time/space distortion because I’d like to have lived through the next 3 weeks and have left my rubbish job; I’d like to be this time next year having just completed my training, and hopefully with a fulltime position to go to; I’d like to be autumn 2010 because *hopefully* I will have moved in with my beloved.
Mainly however, it’s not a question of where I would like to be but how I would like to be. II would like to be at the end of my weight loss journey and starting the new adventure of maintenance (1/3 of the way there) and I would like to be in the moment more and less living for the future; more being present in every moment of my here and now.
So I guess you could say that although it is fur-lined, I’d like to be out of my rut, and into the next groove which I can shape however I want.
If I could, I would be on a major shopping spree right now with unlimited cash
Thank you all for taking part, so many varied responses and it’s given me a lot to think about whilst I am away – thanks again and your patterns are on their way to you : )
