Always good things happening

Some eagle eyed visitors may have noticed that the blog has moved but it's for a good reason to enable more things to happen from this one space instead of running round all over the place adding bits and pieces – hang on, that sounds like my life in the real world, running round here and there doing bits and pieces.

This time tomorrow I'll be getting ready for a few days of knit goodness, hanging out with Skein Queen on her stand at Knit Nation, a perfect few days of knit goodness (and obviously very hard work…) and we will have a house guest too, the lovely Susan Crawford who will be signing books at the Loop stand over the few days. In anticipation of the event, Skein Queen has designed a pattern and new kit to make mini tweetie birds. I have managed to make a few along with some of the other outcasts and this will be bird bunting. The stand is going to be beautiful and I have even got my birdie dress for the preview evening – so planning there is compete!

At the same time, this weekend is the first weekend of the Outside:Inside Festival – it doesn't need to be said that it's not the music element that I am involved in – anyone who knows me, knows that I love music but in terms of being musically talented, that would be a no! It's the art pieces, that's the bit we can do, so it starts with theatre and performance this week, art interventions week 2, art market week 3 and finally an installation, creation and performance on the final weekend. There will be more updates over at the jelly website particularly on the art. My son is particularly pleased that we are involved with the Outside:Inside Festival - firstly all the guys who run it are brilliant and passionate about music but secondly he's got his eye on a submitting for next year.. at least someone in the family has sound talent.

Before all this excitement happened I managed to escape to Portugal to see my parents, where I made my Austin Hoodie, a design by Connie Chang and part of a KAL with the Skein Queen Group on Ravelry (Ravelry link). The colour was dyed to order by Skein Queen and it's called MotMot.

Here's another picture I love from my trip to Portugal:

and to balance the twins out, a picture a few days later from Shoreham-by-Sea

See you either at Knit Nation or Outside:Inside Festival.
